While most conversations around diets focus on weight loss, gaining healthy weight is equally important and often more challenging than it seems. If you’re underweight, recovering from illness, or just looking to build strength and muscle, it’s time to focus on nourishing, calorie-dense Indian meals.

At Diet Ryt, we believe you don’t need fancy supplements or extreme diets to gain weight. You just need the right foods, eaten the right way.

Here’s how to build a healthy weight gain plate:

  • Don’t skip carbs: Roti, rice, poha, idli, and upma provide the energy your body needs to build mass. Focus on portion-controlled but frequent meals.

  • Include good fats: Add ghee to rotis, use cold-pressed oils, sprinkle seeds and nuts on your meals. These add calories without bulk.

  • Protein matters: Paneer, dal, milk, curd, eggs, and pulses help in muscle building. Aim for a source of protein in every meal.

  • Mini meals are key: Eat 5-6 times a day. Include snacks like banana + peanut butter, chikki, smoothies with dates and milk, or dry fruit laddoos.

  • Strength + food = results: Weight gain is most effective when paired with strength training. The goal isn’t just fat, it’s lean mass.

Avoid junk food for the sake of calories. True, it may lead to weight gain but often at the cost of bloating, acne, and poor digestion.
